For a lot of people having their phones black out during the day can trigger a nervous breakdown.
In fact, that could be understating what could happen…
It’s also not exaggerating to claim that our mobile devices spend more time with us more than anything else… barring our body parts.
I remember the last time my phone went “dead” halfway into the day due a couple of extended calls. My awareness basically went blank along with the touch screen. And I received a sarcastic tongue-lashing episode from my boss.
Smart mobile devices have become so much a part of city life that you are expected to have one so that you are contactable any time of the day. In fact, people might stereo-type you as a caveman if you don’t have one with you.
Anyway, that was many years ago. And would you believe it… at that time, I wasn’t aware that there were things like power banks meant to save the day in such circumstances.
It was like the day when I first learned about wireless internet connections on my first full-time job in the early 2000s. I actually called IT to report a problem with my computer as I couldn’t get online. Imagine the look on the Technician’s eyes when he realized that the problem was that I wasn’t connected to WIFI…
I chuckle whenever I think back to that incident.
Well technology advances faster than you can type these days. And one of the big brothers of power banks come from JETech.
I’m referring to the:

Drawbacks of the this powerful portable charger?
I love the stylish look and elegant feel to this power bank. It also does it’s primary job very well.
As a user of backup power banks for smart mobile devices, the only drawback for me is it’s size. At 0.9 inches thick, it’s not something that slides comfortably in your pocket.
It might even look like a bulge in your pants… that can be embarrassing to men.
But since most people keep them in bags, I’d say this drawback is negligible unless you have an obsessive habit of keeping these things in your pockets.
It has 10,000mAh. How small would you expect it to be?
It’s a small inconvenience (if any) in exchange for the peace of mind of knowing your cell phone will never face a life or death situation.
Saying that, if size is an important criteria to you, you might want to look for smaller alternatives but can only carry half the juice of this powerbank.
You will have to make a decision of choosing between size and power.
Eventually researchers and manufacturers are going to figure out how to squeeze more juice into smaller packages. But today, we are stuck with what is available to the consumers markets.
JETech do make power banks in a few power ranges including 3000mAh, 3400mAh, 5000mAh, 6000mAh, etc.
Is the JETech 10,000mAh Power Bank worth buying?
At less than $20, this baby delivers great value that solves a real world problem. It is actually a small price to pay for practicality.
It will without doubt, be a great travel companion.
10,000mAh does not exactly make this a heavyweight in terms of power in the tank. But it is definitely no slouch either. It can probably charge an iPhone 6 about 5 times… give or take.
It’s sleek metallic look also makes the buying decision that much easier.
I’ve had power banks that look like doggy toys. I have one that’s even designed like a packet of milk! So this is surely a piece of art compared the type of stuff I’ve had previously.
The 2 USB slots are also not there just so you can charge 2 devices at once. The 2.1A slot releases more power so that you can use it for tablets as well. So no more ironic moments where you have a power bank, yet it won’t power-up your tablets.
What I really like about this product is the LED status bars. This will inform the user when it needs to recharge. There no bigger irony than to carry around a battery charger that is out of juice.
And as an outdoor person who can sometimes go a whole day without access to power points, this product will resoundingly remove a big headache from my mind.
I can also see the usefulness of the On/Off switch to manage charging. Sometimes, rationing battery juice makes sense. Especially if it has to be shared around.
Such a profound moment to learn that just a few simple things can make a power bank a desirable one… JETech has got this one just right.
