Evenflo Symphony Convertible Car Seat Review

It is one of those products that you don’t realize how essential it is until you need it.

When you bought your first car and just driving around town having fun with your friends, you’d probably never thought about fixing up a baby seat in your car. In fact, you might not even know such a fixture in a car existed.

That is… until you grew up, become an adult, and have a baby.

A child seat is absolutely necessary if you are bringing your child out in your car… unless there is another adult in the vehicle holding onto the baby. Failing to have a special seat to secure your baby when you are alone is irresponsible.

Either you get a convertible car seat, or you don’t bring your child with you when you drive.

Whatever the case, there will always be instances that come up when a child seat is needed.

It could take years before your newborn baby grows to exceed a weight and height limit of a child safety seat. And during this time, a lot of impromptu and ad-hoc decision making could arise in family activities. You don’t want the lack of a child seat affect the logistics of family outings.

And that is just for the first child. Your second third could be on the way soon.

Putting it into this perspective. With how long you might be using a baby car seat, and with how many children you could be using it for, it makes perfect sense to invest in a good one so that it’s durable and will last over the years.

To be honest, it never occurred to the frugal part of me to buy a high quality baby car seat until a friend of mine talked about how his premium baby stroller was used, and then reused by his 3 children. And even his sister borrowed it for her baby in between the births of his 3 children.

It then dawned on me that it is definitely worth the money to invest in something like a high quality car seat for babies as it could possibly be an everyday fixture for years. And you need it to serve it’s safety purpose during those periods.

Then I came across the Evenflo Symphony convertible car seat when doing my research online and offline.

I must admit that my jaw dropped when I saw it’s price. But when you put the dependability, longevity, flexibility, and quality into perspective, it is a fair price to pay for peace of mind.

And surely, the safety and health of your child is priceless.

Drawbacks of this child safety car seat

As babies will not be able to tell us what’s wrong when they are using it, a parent will be right to be concerned with every little thing that a product can or cannot do.

There is no indicator on this car seat that shows whether it is in a leveled position or not. This can make it uncomfortable for a baby when we actually think that the seat is in it’s desired reclined position.

The location of the harness clip is not adjustable. This means that once your baby gets smarter, he/she might be able to figure out how to unbuckle himself/herself. When you are on the highway with your baby beside you, the last thing you want is to see this happen.

Saying this, almost every baby car seat has this issue. It won’t make sense to fix a padlock onto the harness.

The product also weighs 14 pounds. That is comparably to many of the other premium brands out there. Weight makes products like this more sturdy and less flimsy.

But do note that if you are a frequent traveler, it can be quite a hassle to bring them with you on flights.

Is Evenflo Symphony Convertible Car Seat worth buying?

I’d say that the decision of which car seat to buy cannot have a universal answer. Because each child is an individual and will inevitably have different needs and preferences.

For example, the differences in height, weight, reach, balance, agility, etc, can make a huge difference in what different babies find comfortable. Even parents will have different perceptions of what is best for their kids.

So you have to do your own research on a suitable car seat.

But If you are lost in all the various different products out there, the Evenflo Symphony convertible car seat is a credible one that not only looks good, but serves it’s practical purpose very well too.

It would make a great first baby car seat. And if you do buy it, I won’t be surprised if it turns out to be your last and only one as well. That’s how long it can last.
